10 Minutes
Heather and I got all bundled up to enjoy a nice winter walk the other day. Upon taking our first step out and having the wind rush in and slap one side of our faces, only to turn right back around and dropkick the other side, we both looked at each other with the look that said, “yeah this is going to be a short one.” 10 minutes to be precise. Dude, since moving down from New York we sure have turned into wimps! What the heck?!

I I like the way how you filled up the negative space here. And you did it even better using a structure (building? tree?) to cover the sun but gave just enough light to create a silhouette effect. Beautiful orange side light. I can feel the warmth and lucky not to be slapped by cold rushing wind..heehee.

Yes, I much prefer the view from this photo! =) Is the background pure photographic effect or did you touch it up later? Looks like a daguerreotype!

Mio Cade: Thanks man! Yeah the big structure in the background is a large tree on our street.
Kristine: The background is purely photographic (the shallow depth of field, orange sunlight, houses, etc. are directly from the camera). The grungy looking stuff on top and the edges of the photo is a texture layer I put on top and then massaged the balance between the two layers.

I love it! The processing is amazing. Incredible job Andrew. Heather can certainly pose for North Face anytime!
