What’s Your Doggie?

mia-and-her-doggie

It seems every child goes through a stage where they become inseparable from an object they cherish.  In Mia’s case, where she goes, Doggie goes too!  Currently, Spooner is trying to figure out how to wash off the childhood from Doggie once in awhile so that it doesn’t turn from brown to black, but she is having a hard time taking it away from her.  As for me, I think my Doggie was my brother Dave.  When I was little, I pretty much hung on the shirttail of my brother and tried to go everywhere he went (no seriously, I literally hung on the edges of his shirt, pulling from time to time while I kept repeating, “hey Dave, hey Dave, hey Dave”).  I hope I didn’t annoy him too much, but growing up he was my hero.  Now that I have seen how he lives his life currently, he is more of a hero to me than ever before.  As a side note, thank goodness that my Doggie, unlike Mia’s, was the self showering variety.

In the comments below, tell me what your Doggie was/is?

    I love this story!
At least you didn’t clutch him around the next like this doggie.

p.s. The boy I babysat for in Chicago had a bunny rabbit that was his comfort toy… He esp. liked to suck or chew on the nubby tail. It was impossible the get it away from him for laundry duty, even w/ a substitute Mr. Bun on hand!

Mine was "puffy" a silk blanket that HAD MIckey Mouse characters on it. We have a pic of my reaction to finding "lost" Puffy hanging out on the line ( circa 1956!) My eldest child inherited Puffy and he SHOULD be passing her on down to my grand daughter any day now…RIGHT JAMES?????
