“Scottish Scott”

scott-waterskiing.jpg

Scott is one of my closest friends here in Philly.  We met at our Mennonite church.  When Heather and I started attending our current church Scott and his wife Alice immediately took us in as friends and made us feel incredibly welcomed right away.  I think I was initially drawn to his comic nature, but quickly discovered much deeper levels to his character and thoughtfulness.  To be sure there is rarely a dull, thoughtless moment when hanging with this crazy Scotsman!  As amazing as Scott’s waterskiing talent is, it’s greatly overshadowed by his and Alice’s generosity of their time and resources (the most difficult types to give) to those within their community.

  1. Scottish Scott's brother says:

“Scottish Scott”, he was not always known by. Scunner and Haggis, do not have good translations. However the lad has always taken to water and speed, and has (as an adult) been generous indeed with what he has, and who he is. We do not ski together, but are ever thankful to be loving brothers.
