“A Good Place To Read”

Transient. That’s a good word for a child’s world. For them things are constantly changing it seems (even when their external environment is consistent, their internal world is always changing and evolving. They are constantly taking in new sounds, images, smells, ideas, concepts, what have you. I suppose then it should come as no surprise that their emotions can change on a dime as well. As I was about to leave Sydney’s room, Joshua, distraught and with tears in his eyes and a lightsaber in his hand, came running into the room and promptly crawled under the bed without a single word. Apparently there was some disagreement between him and his cousins and/or his sister . After a little chat I started to take some pictures of him to cheer him up. As you can see above, Joshua went from “my life is over” to “it’s all goooooood” faster than you could turn on a lightsaber and pouting gave way to reading. Sydney, seeing that Joshua was in a better mood decided to join him on the floor to do some reading of her own. I wish I still fit under my bed. It looks like a good place to read.

Evolving, son?!? Is that okay with, uh, you know, Mennonites? Just askin’! And, by the way, judging from your overall THICKNESS, I would say that you could pretty much slide under any bed.

Sure why not. All the Mennonites I know are pretty smart people. The simple fact that you, like the rest of humanity, having started out as a cell that can only be seen under a powerful microscope turned into a thinking, talking, smarty pants capable of complex motor functions qualifies you as evolving. Imagine what you might look like if you could live to be 400 years old (a pretty amazing and scary thought)!
God sure pulled out all the stops when he worked us out.
