“Icicles and Sun”

Although I’m primarily known as a people photographer, I do at times enjoy photographing the non-humanoid natural world.
It’s been pretty cold here in Philly the last couple of weeks. Just when I think winter is about to melt away for another season I’m reminded that I’m at the mercy of nature. Nature will do what it wants—it always does. Though I groan and mumble under my icy breath, for the most part, I remain happy and grateful because every year Spring always rises from it’s underground dome and shines it’s resurrecting light into my life. There are billions of people in this word that this simple truth does not touch. For those I pray with my heart and with my hands (although short in it’s reach).
I hope you are the one of the lucky ones who have a Spring to look forward to.
Side letter: Dear Winter, didn’t mean to diss you on my photoblog today, but you always make a good metaphorical enemy it seems—don’t worry I think you’re beautiful and groovy too.

Tammy: Yeah Philadelphia is weird like that. In a matter of just a few minutes you can go from crazy large city (5th largest in the U.S.) to peaceful nature areas.
