“Two Mode Joshua”

Joshua, like many children, is a complex kid with a thoughtful soul.  However, when around him I often see him in one of these two modes (staring deeply into a computer screen playing Zoo Tychoon or flailing wildly).  In all fairness, he did calmly sit on my lap one night and had a conversation with me.

Me: Hey Josuha, do you still want to be a photographer like me when you grow up?

Joshua: Yeah!

Me: What kind of a photographer are you going to be?

Joshua: A dinosooaure photagraapher!

Me: Well, that might be difficult.

Joshua: Yeah they’re extinct so I have to build a time machine to go back in time to take pictsuures of them.

Me: Well, good thing you don’t need a time machine to be a photographer.  What other types of pictures would you take if you couldn’t build a time machine?

Joshua: Ummm, I could take pictsuures of endanguured species.

Me: Why would you want to take pictures of endangered species?

Joshua: Because they’re endanguured so they might die and then nobody will get to see how beautiful they were.

Me: So you would take photos of them for historic and archiving purposes?

Joshua: Yeah!

Joshua, I hope someday you can show the world how beautiful things look through your eyes.
