“Not Exactly Singing In The Rain”

rain-wedding-car.jpg

Since this is my blog and I can do with it whatever I want I thought I would mix it up a bit so that this site doesn’t become the The Process of Remember Korea blog.  I know a lot of you have asked to see Korea photos so I will keep coming back to it as I toss in a few other types of images on the way.

I had to shoot a wedding recently in a torrential downpour.  Bad weather often make for great photographs, but does nothing good for your hair or clothes.  Although I got completely soaked shooting this frame, it was worth it.  The bride and groom rocked—they were actually up for shooting through a rain storm.  Another thing that rocked—my kicking cameras baby—it survived the day (even when I couldn’t cover it up with a garbage bag or my shirt)!  Not exactly singing in the rain, but actually kind of fun nonetheless.

Yeah. I thought you might know it.

Oh, wow, son! … finally bringing back the stirring, drab, lifeless BLACK AND WHITE shots! Whoa, thanks.

I usually take Dad’s comments tongue-in-cheek (where else would that witty organ of the body reside?), but I’m totally impressed by how vibrant this photo is. ;) Raindrops, wedding couple, setting, and that classic automobile… The B&W contrast simply underscores the energy you’ve captured in the rest of the composition.

Forgive me, son. I completely missed all that vibrance and underscored energy. Whoa! … how could I have been so blind!!

Just when I think I’ve seen the coolest photos on flickr, I run on to someone or something EVEN BETTER! You are an awesome photographer, as many of your shots prove, but THIS one . . . WOW! Is an understatement. Congratulations. Lucky Lis for having you as a mentor.
