the process of remembering: a photoblog by andrew huth

“A Toast For Keely & Mark”

keely-mark-toast.jpg

This past weekend my friend Keely got hitched.  Even though this is one wedding I didn’t have to photograph, I of course couldn’t help myself from capturing a few frames for memory’s sake.  Keely is one of the most optimistic and cheerful people I know.  Yet, her optimism isn’t born from a weakened sense of reality (for the world is often a dark place), but rather from a genuine conviction in the light of man to affect positive changes in our world.  Seeing this kind of trait in a person whose doctoral academic focus was in the non-profit service sector fills me with hope for our future.  Mark, I know you very little but the day Heather and I got to spend with you and Keely in Philly was one of the nicest times we have had here.  Even though I didn’t give a toast on your wedding day, I now raise a virtual glass to two people who I think will help make the future a kinder and richer place for others to live in.

Once again Andrew your words only highlight an already beautiful photograph….your gift of the lens and written word help to make this world a better place….and we all benefit because of your gift.
