“Early Morning Westerlo Lot”

I took these photos the same morning as the post “Early Morning In Westerlo.” My friend Scott has this huge barn with all kinds of crazy stuff (these cars included) in it that he sells very successfully on eBay. The secret to his selling ability of rusty hunks of metal and other nondescript items is that he actually knows what they are. Knowledge is powerful to a successful auction I think. I joke with my friends Scott because he is the only person I know in my life who owns at least one of nearly every type of transport vehicle. He has a car, motorcycle, bicycle, an off-road 4 wheeler, an airplane, a backhoe, a tractor, a snow mobile and believe it or not, a school bus. I joke that all he is missing is a train to complete his set.
Perhaps the only thing that overshadows the number of vehicles he owns is the size of his giving heart. Scott and his wife Karen are one of the most generous people I have come across. They have worked tirelessly over the years of their lives and commit their time, energy and money to helping and being a friend to other people. Because of this, they are one of the busiest people I know. They always have something going on. The thing is, 9 out of 10 times, it is doing something for someone else. Whether it is making dinner for nearly 20 people once a week or helping another family build a home, they are constantly spending themselves on other people. Nearly everything I know about cars and how to fix them I pretty much owe to Scott. More than that, he and Karen have taught me how to be a better friend.

I can’t believe these were in the barn, I hope he doesn’t sell them all before October-when I get home next…. I need to take some pics;-) And, yes, I totally agree with your narrative. Scott and Karen have done SO much for me too. I love those two!
