As I was heading up the stairs of my parents’ house this Thanksgiving weekend I was greeted by little Alice and Kwon.  They sat side by side blocking the entry to the upstairs hallway.  Upon meeting them on the stairs Kwon announced that he was the Prince of the place followed by Alice proclaiming her Princess status.  Playing along I said I was a Prince too and requested safe passage to my upstairs room.  Hearing my proclamation, Kwon protested that he was the Prince and swiftly denied my entry.  It was made clear to me that unless I proclaimed that I was the King, I would not be allowed to pass.  Wishing safe passage to retrieve my laptop from my room, I raised my arms and exclaimed, “I am the King!”
