the process of remembering: a photoblog by andrew huth

Outside Chat

Sorry that I haven’t posted in awhile. I have been kind of busy working on some projects, so I thought it would be fun to pull out an old photograph to share with you. As Spring approaches around the corner, I am reminded of how much I enjoy just sitting outside with friends and family chatting into the night. The world keeps telling us that we constantly need to be entertained, but I think that is overrated and wrong. There is far more value in the easy flow of conversations between family, friends and even strangers on a warm Spring night. I hope for all of us a “us”centric Spring rather than a “me” centric one.

nice subtle vignetting at the sides. Also dig heather;s long bulgy legs :)

I agree 100% with your words andrew. I really like the shading and darkness of your photo. Her legs are funny too.

Thanks for the nice comments Dave and Bobbie. There is some irony about the vignetting (the slight darkening of the corners and edges) in this and many of my pictures. Camera lens makers try so hard to produce lenses that eliminate this darkening characteristic and yet in many ways I find it visual more interesting to have it. Glad you two like it as well. Yes Heather’s legs in this photo looks kind of wacky—I like to call that pants she has on, her clown pants :-)
