the process of remembering: a photoblog by andrew huth

A series of pictures taken on a walk with friends Allen and Danielle. Allen and Danielle were back to the States from Jakarta for a few weeks during Christmas and New Year. Heather and I much enjoyed spending a weekend with them. I hardly laughed harder this year as it often is with Allen. Our walk was filled with joking, reminiscing, and talking about life as it often does when the two of us get together. While walking on this day, I took note of the beautiful world reflected on the creek surface that were more about feeling rather than the likeness of the world along our path.

    it’s great to see some more images up on your site! although now i feel like i’m standing on my head =)

    i envy the beautiful setting you all had for your visit. i caught just over an hour with A and D in o’hare as they passed through chicago… but the company made it worthwhile!

    Hey Kris,

    That made me laugh real hard. Yes, I too felt like I was standing on my hands looking at the world. It’s nice to hear from you my friend. Yeah, A & D mentioned you were going to meet up with them at O’hare. Meeting at the airport—that sounds so metropolitan.

    about the photos;

    i have to say my favorites are the most abstract (the 1st and the 5th photos you’ve posted). i also really like the rich colors and the balance of the composition in the second one…

    about the airport;

    it may sound metropolitan, but it is pretty much like every other airport! we had to chase people off the bench closest to the starbucks stand in order to sit somewhere. okay. we didn’t chase them off. but we hovered like vultures until they cleared the place… (vultures w/ large carry-on luggage).

    Yo, son!

    You must have been in a really reflective mood that day.

    Whoa!

    Hey Rachel,

    I like the first one best also. When I was looking at it, it reminded me of a butterfly—I thought it looked so beautiful.

    Who is this “A & D”?? Is that a type of root beer or something?
