As I was walking out of the Musei Vaticani I was struck by the beauty of this staircase. I was glad that these two strangers also decided to stop and admire the view. It completed the photo for me. Everything in that place is a work of art—even the stairs!

    andrew!

i’m glad to see you’re back and posting again… i’m esp. looking forward to some of these rome pictures =)

it was a treat to have my research trip complemented by your photography. most of my pictures are focused on the buildings and their decoration. your images remind me of the people who live in these places, have come to visit and look and learn like we did, and whose presence keeps human history alive and varied and always unexpected!

    Hey Kris,

Thanks for the nice comment. I do have a particular taste in photography, but certainly looking at your images of non-organic objects (buildings, rocks, etc.) proved that there is something magical about them as well. I was struck by how beautifully you were able to capture those sorts of things that I just find difficult for me. I admire that. I am very much interested in glimpsing at those again in our community blog.

Hello my Son! Mom, here, with yet another perspective…the full beauty of the lower spirals is hidden except for glimpses where the light occasionally shines through the darkness. And the closer one gets to the top, the beauty is revealed in all its splendor…no darkness…only light. Kind of reminds me of our life here on earth… occasional glimpses through the darkness… then…heaven! Looking forward to it! See you all there!
