It is amazing the marks of beauty you find while walking down an uninspiring road. A high school student recently asked if being behind a camera makes me feel detached from the real world in some way. I told him that it actually makes me feel the opposite. It makes me hyper-aware and involved with the world around me. This little flower was nothing more than a side-note beside a road with blades of grass taller than it, covering it up. By laying down on my stomach and seeing the setting sun light the petals from behind made it the most important thing on that curb.
