the process of remembering: a photoblog by andrew huth

Here’s the thing, Pucallpa is one of the poorest places I have seen. It alarmingly put into focus how immensely comfortable my life here in America is. As a foreigner it takes some time I imagine to adapt to the way of life in Pucallpa. My first night there I was witness to this amazing sunset. In a world full of harsh and unfair inequalities, it reminded me that both the rich and the poor alike can afford to enjoy such sunsets like this one above. I like that.

I love the way the vines are pending closure, like curtains at the end of a day. It’s very relaxing!!

andrew, this made it onto my desktop last week as the new ‘wallpaper’ (anything but!).
the photo and your own words were needed reminder of the free gifts of grace that we all receieve, deserved or not. and when i am facing what seem like all-important, academic deadlines, it offers the bigger picture. thanks!
