andrew, i really like this one. can’t exactly pin down why, but here are a couple possibilities…
it gives me the disembodied feeling of lying in the summer grass and having just opened my eyes after an unexpected nap
the cropping around clouds and trees seems all normal and stuff, as if you were looking way up at the sky and then all the sudden there is this tall tree jutting up at left and dominating the whole thing
it looks like monet’s “poplars on the banks of the river epte” (1890) Tate Gallery, London
