this is really charming… the elements of the photo could be scary/claustrophobic, but you’ve made it smthg. very straightforward. the curtains provide a sense of the mysterious (also the lighting and muted color), and joshua (?)’s gesture is so wonderfully curious and exploratory. i wonder what would be different if you caught the image from below him, more of an angle looking up? w/ the camera at his height, it both flattens the image some (esp. w/ the layers of curtain and window following the same plane) but also makes him an equal player and agent of his own discovery.
