the process of remembering: a photoblog by andrew huth

suzy-laughter

I spent Labor Day weekend 2005 with my college friends.

This is Suzy. Suzy’s job is as a DVM (doctor of veterinary medicine). Suzy is sharply intelligent and cares passionately about the work she does. On this weekend’s visit with her, I heard many stories of animal surgery and illnesses, (mostly which turned my stomach) told with scientific directness and care, all from a mind that has a mastery of such matters.

Suzy also makes me smile and laugh. Her laugh is the most distinct that I have heard. In college, while walking through her floor I would always know when she was having a good time. She told me recently that some people have likened her to a snake when it comes to eating. After she eats, she gets very sleepy and curls away. Our outing to a Korean restaurant proved this to be true.

Huthy, you never cease to amaze me. Of all your photos, I like the black and white the best. This one is especially good.
