the process of remembering: a photoblog by andrew huth

Jay is my brother-in-law. Many would say that Jay is complicated. He often seems restless and yet one of his big goals in life is to buy a small bit of property next to his Dad in the small rural town he grew up in. Many say it’s hard to know what he is often thinking and yet every time snow accumulates in his single mother’s driveway he is there with his truck to plow her out. Many often wonder what he will eventually grow up to do and yet he does things with his hands in landscaping that I could only dream of. It’s true, Jay is complicated.

Excellent portrait. I like the tones and the expression. You can definitely see that he has depth in the image. Thanks for sharing your backstory as well.

Wow ! You are talented brothers. I was used to Dave’s work which I like very much. I am equally impressed by your work!

When I first met Jay, he was 17 years old and looking after his fathers well being and visa versa. He was very welcoming as a teenager and would always try to get me going either in laughter or me wanting to re-direct him down the straight and narrow. He has brought so much to my life, as a son and as a friend. He calls me Boo, because he likes to try to scare me, not just on Halloween. He would do anything for anyone and put himself second. He likes the little things in life. He loves to talk and is a great listener. Seven short years later he’s a full grown man and is just the same. Don’t ever change!!!
    Love you!!!
